Five Awesome Things To Do In Rarotonga!

Heading to Rarotonga and wanna know the coolest things to do? Hope & Phill from Poropeke Adventures have got you covered. From cruising around the island, hiking your way across it, and drinking your way around it, to driving buggies through an abandoned resort and getting dirty as hell. There’s something for everyone!

1. Captain Tamas Lagoon Cruizes

When we asked for suggestions of things to do in Rarotonga, this was easily the most recommended activity. Everyone that’s done it absolutely rates it, including us!

You’ll spend a few hours cruising around Muri, snorkelling in the lagoon, spotting a heap of pretty amazing sea creatures (including a merman), before heading over to one of the smaller islands for a BBQ lunch and a bit of entertainment from the captains. They’ll have you laughing from the moment you step on the boat, but the real show comes after lunch when they demonstrate some interesting uses for coconut cream and just a few of the ways you can tie a sarong. Make sure you volunteer your partner as a model when it comes to the sarong demo. You will not be disappointed!

2. Rehab Pub Crawl

The second most recommended activity on the island was the Rehab Pub Crawl. For $30 you get picked up and driven round the best bars and clubs on the island. But you don’t have to wait till you get to the first pub to start partying, the party starts as soon as you get on the truck. Yep, its not a van, or a bus. Its a party truck!

You’ll hit five or six bars around the island before finishing the night at Rehab, the biggest club in Rarotonga. Its a lot of fun and the best way to experience the island nightlife. The night we went, we ended up joining a hens night and a birthday party. But no matter who’s on the pub crawl with you, its bound to be a good night!

Rarotonga Rehab

The Rehab truck can pick you up and drop you off on the main road anywhere around the island, and they even let you bring booze to drink on the road. The pub crawl runs Monday, Wednesday, Friday & Saturday nights, starting between 7-8pm. Email [email protected] to book your spot!
