Cook Islands Named 'Oceania's Leading Island Destination’ – Again!
Last year, the island of Aitutaki was independently identified as the winner of the title. It's fantastic to now see the Cook Islands as a collective being acknowledged, says Ms Noeline Mateariki, CIT Director of Global Sales and Marketing. This recognition solidifies the Cook Islands' position as a premier Oceania island destination, especially when being compared to the island destination of Bora Bora who were the previous title holders for 3 consecutive years.
Congratulations to our industry members on their outstanding achievements who were also recognized at the World Travel Awards. Their contributions play a pivotal role in elevating the Cook Islands' tourism industry and enhancing the visitor experience.
- Oceania’s Leading Resort 2023: Pacific Resort Aitutaki, Cook Islands (for the second consecutive year)
- Cook Islands’ Leading Boutique Hotel 2023: Little Polynesian (marking their fourth win in this category)
- Cook Islands’ Leading Resort 2023: Etu Moana
- Cook Islands’ Leading Villa Resort 2023: Pacific Resort Aitutaki
Ms. Karla Eggelton, CIT CEO, expressed, "These awards serve as a testament to the commitment of our tourism industry and its dedication in providing authentic island experiences. It is pleasing to see the Cook Islands emerge as a leading preference for travelers in the Oceania region.“
