Our Umu Experience Cultural Night is held every Monday & Wednesday evenings from 6pm to 9pm. Backed by our talented drummers, your evening begins under the stars with our "Umu show" where warriors demonstrate through chants and dance, the process and preparation of a traditional umu or underground earth oven.
The demonstration takes you through various stages of preparing some of the dishes in the umu to the opening and removal of the feast from the smoking hot underground oven. You then delight in a flavorful umu platter served to your table, and help yourself to a buffet of freshly prepared salads and authentic local dishes. Complementary chilled water & herbal tea is provided.
Following dinner and to conclude the night, our "Dinner show" will showcase our beautiful island maidens and warriors performing a number of slow and fast paced items.
The Umu Cultural Night is an absolutely spectacular evening of well-choreographed performances and delectable island feasting that both visitors and locals of all ages will no doubt enjoy.
We also provide other cultural experiences including our Umu Cooking Class (Fridays 9am to 1pm) & Cooking Class 101 (Thursdays 9am to 12pm). For groups with a minimum of ten we have the Kava Experience (Fridays 5pm to 7pm) and the Homebrew Experience (Saturdays 5pm to 7pm).
