As Digital Marketing Coordinator, you will support the Digital Marketing team to enhance Cook Islands Tourism’s digital footprint, engage our target audiences, and strengthen our brand identity across a range of online channels.
This is a hands-on, creative, fast-moving role for someone who can balance ideas with detail, content with data, and storytelling with strategy.
About the role
The Digital Marketing Coordinator supports the Digital Marketing team with content development and distribution across a range of digital channels.
You will assist with creating, organising, maintaining, and analysing content across Cook Islands Tourism’s online platforms. This includes social media, websites, email marketing, content libraries, digital campaigns, and corporate communications.
You will help ensure our digital presence is fresh, accurate, engaging, on-brand, and aligned with Cook Islands Tourism’s wider marketing strategy.
In simple terms, you will help make sure the Cook Islands shows up beautifully, consistently, and effectively online.

In this role, you will support a wide range of digital marketing, content, communications, and online engagement activities.
Your work may include:

Supporting the Destination Marketing team
You will work closely with the Destination Marketing team to support Cook Islands Tourism’s business objectives and help deliver projects efficiently.
This means being a strong team player, contributing to high-quality outcomes, and staying open to learning new digital tools, tactics, platforms, and marketing approaches.

Creating engaging digital content
You will help craft compelling content that connects with our audiences and supports Cook Islands Tourism’s business and marketing goals.
This may include assisting with blog posts, articles, social media content, infographics, videos, website content, email content, and other digital materials designed to inform, inspire, and engage.
You will help bring the Cook Islands brand to life through content that feels fresh, useful, and true to who we are.

Supporting content planning and scheduling
You will assist with planning, organising, and scheduling a diverse mix of content across digital channels.
From inspiring destination stories to practical visitor information, your role will help ensure our content remains varied, relevant, timely, and engaging.

Managing and maintaining digital content
You will help organise, categorise, and maintain Cook Islands Tourism’s digital content library so that content can be easily accessed and used for marketing and communications.
This includes sourcing new content, keeping existing content accurate, and supporting regular content reviews and updates.
Platforms may include tools such as Crowdriff and HubSpot, as well as other content and marketing systems used by the organisation.

Supporting social media channels
You will support content and engagement across Cook Islands Tourism’s owned digital channels, including platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, and other relevant channels.
This may include assisting with content publishing, monitoring comments and enquiries, supporting engagement, tracking performance, and helping ensure our social channels remain active, responsive, and aligned with our brand.

Supporting website updates
You will assist with the daily upkeep of Cook Islands Tourism’s visitor-facing and corporate websites.
This includes helping ensure website content is fresh, accurate, relevant, SEO-friendly, and aligned with the organisation’s digital marketing strategy.
You may also support website performance improvements, new digital projects, platform updates, and digital process improvements.

Supporting email and digital channels
You will help support email marketing campaigns and other online channels that connect Cook Islands Tourism with visitors, industry, partners, and stakeholders.
This may include preparing content, assisting with scheduling, monitoring engagement, and helping ensure digital communications are clear, consistent, and useful.

Supporting brand and corporate communications
You will help maintain consistent messaging and brand representation across digital channels and markets.
This may include supporting corporate communication materials, press releases, media updates, Coconut Connections, Good Business Updates, monthly reporting, and other communications activity.

Tracking performance and insights
You will assist with monitoring and analysing content performance, website traffic, social media engagement, digital campaign results, and other key performance indicators.
This includes helping track audience engagement, follower growth, conversion metrics, website traffic patterns, keyword performance, organic search traffic, and other useful insights.
Your work will help the team understand what is working, what can be improved, and how our digital activity can better support destination marketing goals.

About you
We are looking for someone who is creative, organised, curious, and comfortable in the digital space.
You may already be working in marketing, content creation, social media, communications, digital advertising, web support, tourism, or a related field. You might be someone who loves creating content, improving online experiences, analysing what audiences respond to, and finding new ways to tell a story.
You do not need to know everything from day one, but you do need to be proactive, reliable, detail-focused, and willing to learn.
This role will suit someone who enjoys variety. One day you might be helping schedule social media content, the next you might be updating website copy, organising images, assisting with a campaign, reviewing analytics, or supporting a media release.
You will need to be confident working independently, but also comfortable collaborating with colleagues, stakeholders, agencies, developers, market teams, and tourism industry partners.

Experience using or working with platforms such as Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, Crowdriff, HubSpot, Meta platforms, TikTok, LinkedIn, website content management systems, email marketing platforms, or analytics tools would be an advantage.
Qualifications and experience
Applicants should have:
- A tertiary degree, or equivalent level of learning, in a related field such as marketing, digital technology, communications, or business administration
- At least two years’ experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Marketing
- Content creation
- Web proficiency
- Digital advertising
- Social media strategy development
- Data analysis
- Team management
- Competency in speaking and writing in English, Cook Islands Maori a bonus
- AI skills competencies also a bonus
