The hardest thing to do: Saying 'Goodbye'

Kia Orana everybody, it's Tayla here! Warmest greetings from a little paradise. I hope you enjoyed the Food Guide we compiled in our previous post - we're thrilled to see tonnes of positive responses about it on our social channels - for this week, I thought I'd give you a few updates from our little corner of the world.

So first things first; the interns at Cook Islands Tourism are leaving our shores to head back to New Zealand in order to finish their final years at University. Maeva’s already departed, Odile leaves us at the end of the week, and I too was meant to head back in order to start my first year at uni (after 2 years of putting it off much to my parents’ initial dismay) leaving the Intern Blog in potential limbo... However I’ve recently decided to sign on to stay with #TeamTourism full time (much to my parents’ eventual delight), meaning that 1. I’m no longer an intern and 2. The continuation of this blog space might actually be a possibility! Yay!

The only thing is the blog will probably need to be renamed seeing as I’ve graduated from the intern program plus new posts might not come as frequently as they used to considering it’ll just have 1 contributor now as opposed to 3. Although I’ve come up with a small list of potentially useful blog posts so this is what you have to look forward to in the future!

  • Overcoming Language Barriers (a basic guide to the language)

  • Ora Reka (Happy Hour) Part II

  • An A-Grade Guide to Aitutaki

  • The Most Photographic Places in a Little Paradise

  • Upcoming events

  • Geocaching Cook Islands

  • Hacks/Tips for visiting a little paradise

  • Drivers Licenses (because there’s often a lot of confusion surrounding this)

I’ll also be doing updates about our little paradise as I go along but if you have any suggestions for blog posts or have anything you want to know more about then please don’t hesitate to let us know over on our Facebook or Twitter page.

Otherwise that’s it for me! Nice and short and sweet as Maeva’s final blog post is coming in at the end of the week.

Ka Kite for now,

Tayla
