Akaiami Paradise
Overview
Accommodation

Located on the small Islet (motu) of Akaiami in the beautiful Aitutaki Lagoon is Akai-ami Paradise, a private accommodation consisting of a lodge and a villa set on a private island. The island itself is a historical site being the former landing strip for TEAL flying boats which regularly stopped for servicing or weather conditions during the coral route in the 1940's and 50's.

The lodge has in fact been rebuilt on the exact spot where the original TEAL terminal stood and has been built to keep in line with the original design. The lodge can accommodates a maximum of six people on request. It has one bedroom with two double beds, a lounge area, fully equipped kitchen with dining area, mini library, ensuite, deck, snorkelling gear, daily service and complimentary seasonal fruit.

Although you will be on your own private island, you will not be isolated. Lagoon cruises can be arranged, where passing day cruises will pick you up for a day of fun in the sun, snorkelling and BBQ lunch before returning back to Akaiami. You can bring supplies and cook in the full kitchen or meals can be arranged for you. Exclusive evening entertainment can also be arranged and can consist of a solo ukulele to a full string band or a small dance troupe. All transfers to Aitutaki's mainland are included and we include a stop at a convenience store before your 15 minute ferry to Akaiami Island.

The Villa comprises of two units joined together by a wooden walk way. One unit houses the bedroom while the second unit consists of the kitchen. The villa can accommodate a maximum of two people and contains a queen bed, kitchen, en suite, waterfront deck, deck shower, snorkelling gear, daily service and complimentary seasonal fruit. There is no TV, no DVD, no Radio or any other gadgets to distract you from truly enjoying peace and quiet on the spectacular white sandy beach.
