In addition to the business categories, there will be a number of Special Awards presented, and the winners of these awards will be chosen from all businesses that submit an entry to one of the business categories. The 2020 Awards will also feature a People’s Choice awards section, with winners being selected via the Cook Islands Tourism Corp’s social media pages; this is the first time the awards will include a People’s Choice section and CI Tourism Industry Council is thrilled to be able to partner with Cook Islands Tourism to add this new awards section. Lastly, there will be two individual awards presented: Lifetime Achievement in Tourism Award and Outstanding Contribution to Tourism Award.

Our New Zealand based judges will then start scoring the written applications and will visit Rarotonga and Aitutaki in February 2020 to do the in-person interviews with all applicants. As with the 2018 Awards, the awards finalists and winners will be chosen based on both their written applications and their interviews with the judges.
