Air New Zealand Cook Islands Tourism Awards Applications are Open
The online applications for the 2020 Air New Zealand Cook Islands Tourism Awards will be available from Monday 21 Oct 2019 and will close on Monday 09 Dec 2019 at 11.59pm. All Accredited tourism businesses in the Cook Islands are eligible to enter.
The online applications for the 2020 Air New Zealand Cook Islands Tourism Awards will be available from Monday 21 Oct 2019. All Accredited tourism businesses in the Cook Islands are eligible to enter. Businesses can access the online applications at https://cookislandstourismawards.awardsplatform.com This year, there are 10 business categories in total, which is the most business categories available since the Awards first started in 2009. Businesses can submit entries in as many business categories as they would like.
In addition to the business categories, there will be a number of Special Awards presented, and the winners of these awards will be chosen from all businesses that submit an entry to one of the business categories. The 2020 Awards will also feature a People’s Choice awards section, with winners being selected via the Cook Islands Tourism Corp’s social media pages; this is the first time the awards will include a People’s Choice section and CI Tourism Industry Council is thrilled to be able to partner with Cook Islands Tourism to add this new awards section. Lastly, there will be two individual awards presented: Lifetime Achievement in Tourism Award and Outstanding Contribution to Tourism Award.
The online applications will close on Monday 09 Dec 2019 at 11.59pm. Our New Zealand based judges will then start scoring the written applications and will visit Rarotonga and Aitutaki in February 2020 to do the in-person interviews with all applicants. As with the 2018 Awards, the awards finalists and winners will be chosen based on both their written applications and their interviews with the judges.
The 2020 Air New Zealand Cook Islands Tourism Awards winners will be announced live at the prestigious Awards Gala event on Saturday 18 April 2020. The gala event is always a much anticipated and well attended evening, showcasing the best tourism businesses in the country. The Air New Zealand Cook Islands Tourism Awards are a biennial event organized by CI Tourism Industry Council, and our membership includes over 150 tourism businesses in the Cook Islands.
