With BCI celebrating the banks 18th Birthday in June, Opera in Rarotonga is an event that acknowledges the role that BCI has in the Cook Islands community. Each year Motone works with BCI to further develop the education and outreach program which includes school workshops in Rarotonga and Aitutaki as well as a concert recital at the Creative Centre which is always a highlight for the artists.

It is through these workshops that Ridge Ponini realised he wanted to pursue a career as an Opera singer and this year Motone is excited to announce that through the support of Air Rarotonga and Edgewater Resort and Spa they will be selecting 2 lucky workshop participants from Araura college to attend the concert program here in Rarotonga.

“Each year when we have gone to Araura our Opera singers have commented how talented the kids in Aitutaki are. We wanted to take that to another level and see if we can develop a future singer from Araura. Attending the concerts and being able to see the singers live can only be inspirational and we are so grateful to Air Raro and Edgewater for understanding that” said Tuaine.
