With BCI celebrating the banks 18th Birthday in June, Opera in Rarotonga is an event that acknowledges the role that BCI has in the Cook Islands community. Each year Motone works with BCI to further develop the education and outreach program which includes school workshops in Rarotonga and Aitutaki as well as a concert recital at the Creative Centre which is always a highlight for the artists.
It is through these workshops that Ridge Ponini realised he wanted to pursue a career as an Opera singer and this year Motone is excited to announce that through the support of Air Rarotonga and Edgewater Resort and Spa they will be selecting 2 lucky workshop participants from Araura college to attend the concert program here in Rarotonga.
“Each year when we have gone to Araura our Opera singers have commented how talented the kids in Aitutaki are. We wanted to take that to another level and see if we can develop a future singer from Araura. Attending the concerts and being able to see the singers live can only be inspirational and we are so grateful to Air Raro and Edgewater for understanding that” said Tuaine.
On Sunday 2nd of June an evening concert will be held at Coastal Kitchen as the pinnacle celebration concert. This exclusive event for 250 people will be the opportunity to dress up and enjoy a bubbles thanks to CITC Liquors ongoing support and canapés on arrival with each table receiving antipasta platters during the course of the concert with a program that allows the audience for an intimate up close recital that will be a unique and inspiring evening.
