CIT Pa Enua Staff Visit Rarotonga for Strategic Planning & Capacity Development
CIT Pa Enua staff, Teaumata Rairi, Aitutaki Tourism Coordinator, and Mareta Atetu, Atiu Tourism Coordinator, recently spent three days in Rarotonga to enhance their skills and contribute to strategic planning. Their visit was a key part of a broader effort to align tourism development across the Cook Islands.
During their time in Rarotonga, Teaumata and Mareta participated in a Strategic Planning Day focused on setting priorities and aligning strategies for the Destination Development team for the current financial year. This session was crucial for defining clear goals and refining plans to improve tourism across all islands.
In addition to strategic planning, they engaged in capacity-building sessions with the Head Office team. These workshops were designed to equip them with new skills and insights, ensuring they are well-prepared to manage tourism effectively in their islands.
Teaumata shared their enthusiasm about the visit: “Our time in Rarotonga was incredibly valuable. The Strategic Planning Day gave us a clear direction for the year, and the capacity-building sessions provided us with important skills. It’s essential that we work together to ensure a unified approach to tourism development, both at Head Office and across the Pa Enua.”
This visit highlights the commitment to a cohesive tourism strategy, blending strategic planning with capacity development to strengthen tourism management throughout the Cook Islands.
