Brad Kirner, Director of Destination Development, recently attended Regional Tourism New Zealand's Te Unga Mai, a key programme for advancing destination management initiatives. Attended by New Zealand regional tourism organisations and a few select guests from the Pacific, the event offered valuable insights into sustainable tourism, visitor management and strategic thinking, aligning closely with aspirations of the Cook Islands Tourism Development Strategy (CITDS) and the refreshed ‘Love our Little Paradise’ brand strategy.

Kirner noted, “Te Ūnga Mai was a fantastic opportunity to refine our approach to destination development. The knowledge and strategies gained will greatly benefit our efforts in promoting and managing our destination in a sustainable and responsible manner.”
