Visitors may come for the warmth of our sun, but they remember the warmth of our people forever.

Tupuranga Tangata is a principle of the Kia Orana Values and encourages development of our

people everywhere in the tourism industry.   This development includes recognising and rewarding those who go out of their way to make sure our visitors enjoy their experience in the Cook Islands.

The A1 Meitaki Award is an initiative by Cook Islands Tourism and Cook Islands Sun to recognismembers of the tourism industry who have stood out by providing outstanding customer service to our visitors.   The A1 Meitaki Award nomination is an avenue for visitors to give credit to individuals or businesses who have contributed to ensuring that they have had an enriching experience in our little paradise.  In keeping with the spirit of the A1 Meitaki Award and the “Meitaki Value” the recipients receive only grateful acknowledgement and recognition for providing excellent customer service.  On Tuesday, September the 27th  in commemoration of

‘World Tourism Day’ Cook Islands Tourism will be acknowledging the ‘Top 20’ A1 Meitaki Award nominees from the first six months of the A1 Meitaki Awards programme which started in July

2015.  The commemoration event will be held at 12 noon at the Maire Nui Park (opposite the Banana Court).  Everyone is welcome to come and join the team at C.I Tourism to celebrate and acknowledge these individuals and organisations who do a fantastic job within our tourism industry.  Join with the Tourism Industry to celebrate the outstanding ‘Top 20’ individuals and organisations highlighted by our visitors. Nomination forms and drop boxes for the A1 Meitaki Award are located at the Cook Islands Tourism Information Centre, the Rarotonga Airport Departure Lounge, and online at cookislands.travel.
