Eco Ventures Market Day Showcases Regenerative Tourism Through Partnership
The Edgewater Resort & Spa, successfully hosted Eco Ventures Market Day in collaboration with Cook Islands Tourism Corporation on Wednesday 26 March. Held from 8am to 12pm, the event brought together local eco-champions, businesses, and visitors to spotlight sustainable solutions and strengthen our collective commitment to protecting our little paradise.
The market celebrated regenerative tourism in action, with a lively showcase of eco-products, hands-on experiences, and grassroots initiatives that align with the Mana Tiaki principle — the belief that we are all guardians of the environment, culture, and community.
The Cook Islands SPCA’s Waggy Walking Experience and Muri Environment Care were among the featured participants, highlighting the important role of community-led projects in driving change. Visitors connected directly with stallholders to learn how they could support local efforts, reduce their impact, and be part of a tourism model that gives back more than it takes.
Kia Orana Ambassadors Tiare Anguna and Marthalina Opuariki, alongside CIT’s Regenerative Tourism Manager Jeremy Goodwin, attended on the day to share stories, support stallholders, and promote the values of responsible travel through the Kia Orana Ambassadors programme.
Meitaki Ma‘ata to all who took part, shared their work, and brought such positive energy to the day.
Eco Ventures Market Day was a reminder that tourism, when guided by care and collaboration, can regenerate our islands — environmentally, socially, and culturally.
