The event provided a focused platform for Cook Islands Tourism to engage with current key travel trade partners as well as seek out new business to facilitate discussions on destination updates and exploring opportunities for future collaborations.

Cook Islands Tourism participated in the Meet the Pacific 2024 (MTP) roadshow that covered an extensive two-week tour across several European cities including Paris, Barcelona, Madrid, London. Milan, and Rome. Organized by Turama Pacific Travel and Rosie's Holidays of Fiji, the MTP roadshow has been a cornerstone event in the tourism calendar for nine consecutive years.

Representing Cook Islands Tourism were Noeline Mateariki, Director of Global Sales & Marketing, and Daniel Fisher, General Marketing Manager, who were also joined by Cook Islands Industry members Robert Skews, Managing Director of Turama Pacific, Stephen Doherty, Sales & Marketing Manager at Turama Pacific, and Nick Henry, General Manager of Tamanu Beach Resort Aitutaki.

The event provided a focused platform for Cook Islands Tourism to engage with current key travel trade partners as well as seek out new business to facilitate discussions on destination updates and exploring opportunities for future collaborations.

"While Europe currently represents about 5% of our 2023 visitors, Cook Islands Tourism recognizes the potential for growth in this market," stated Noeline Mateariki. "European travelers are known for their extended stays, increased spend, and interest in exploring our beautiful Pa Enua (outer islands). Events like Meet the Pacific are instrumental in helping us build stronger relationships with the travel trade to meet our goals.”

The MTP roadshow also provides invaluable insights into the preferences and trends shaping the European travel market's interest in the Cook Islands. Interest in Pa Enua (outer islands) travel, add-on destination opportunities, live booking preferences, and the appeal of localized authentic experiences were among the key findings discussed during the event. Moving forward, Cook Islands Tourism is committed to strengthening our position to be a desirable destination for the European traveler.

As an incentive for agents to participate in the MTP events, Turama Pacific put together a ‘7 night Luxury Cook Islands Escape for 2’ that was drawn at all 7 MTP events. We would like to extend a Meitaki Ma'ata to our Tourism Industry for your generous support.
