New Free WiFi and Quick Questionnaires Now Live at Rarotonga Airport
Travellers at Rarotonga International Airport’s departures lounge can now enjoy complimentary WiFi, thanks to a new partnership between Cook Islands Tourism (CIT), Vodafone, the Cook Islands Airport Authority (CIAA), and the Pacific Tourism Organisation (SPTO).
As part of the rollout, all users are invited to complete a short, five-minute questionnaire—either as an international visitor sharing their holiday satisfaction, or as a local resident reflecting on their views about tourism. In return, they’ll go in the draw to win a $500 travel voucher, generously sponsored by SPTO.
The initiative improves the airport experience while giving both locals and visitors a voice in shaping the Cook Islands’ tourism model. For CIT, it also provides an important real-time feedback loop that complements the Corporation’s longer-term research and engagement tools.
“This is about giving our team more timely, on-the-ground insights so we can stay responsive and aware of how people are feeling—both our community and our visitors,” says Brad Kirner, Director of Destination Development. “It helps ensure the decisions we make are relevant, grounded, and aligned with what people value most about our little paradise.”
It’s a great example of collaboration in action—showing how CIT, alongside its partners, is committed to making tourism more beneficial and responsible under the Love our Little Paradise movement.
