About the Internship
Te Mato Manava Turoto – Cook Islands Tourism Corporation (CIT) is proud to offer an exciting full-time, 6-month internship opportunity for young, passionate individuals to be part of the Te Mana Turoto – Cook Islands Tourism Internship Programme. This hands-on internship is designed to support CIT's efforts towards a responsible tourism model that benefits the people, culture, and environment of the Cook Islands. With positions in both Rarotonga and Aitutaki, successful applicants will gain practival experience in tourism management, sustainable destination support and more, while contributing to the future of tourism in the Cook Islands.

The Role

As an intern, you will work closely with the Destination Development (DD) Team to support key projects that enhance visitor experiences and advance sustainable tourism initiatives. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting daily operations at the Visitor Information Centres (VIC) in Rarotonga or Aitutaki, including visitor inquiries, bookings, and feedback collection.
  • Assisting in content creation and development to promote responsible tourism across CIT platforms.
  • Providing administrative and operational support for Destination Development projects.
