Trade Manager, Sarah-Elyss Ezekiela, recently returned from the first week of Treasures of the South Pacific, an annual event bringing together South Pacific tourism offices to network with Australian travel agents and participate in destination training.

Accompanied by CIT Strategy Manager, Crystal Kranz, Ezekiela met with over 200 agents from Canberra, Sydney, and Melbourne. She reports a surge in Australian consumer interest in the Cook Islands, driven in part by the recent "Travel Guides" episode. This increased awareness has been widely discussed among both travel agents and consumers alike. Treasures continued in Queensland last week, hosting events in Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast, attended by Australasia Marketing Manager Rachel Mackey.
