To better connect with visitors on Saturdays, Cook Islands Tourism (CIT) has relocated its visitor assistance services to the lively Punanga Nui Market. This move, aimed at leveraging the market’s high foot traffic, has already increased engagement with both tourists and locals.

While the Visitors Centre remains open Monday to Friday, Saturdays now feature a new approach. CIT has set up its stall in close proximity to the stage at Punanga Nui Market. This prime location ensures visitors receive expert advice and information in the heart of the action.

“Our market presence puts us right in the heart of the action. By moving here, we’re ensuring we’re exactly where the visitors are,” says Carlene Mapu, Visitor Experience Manager. “This shift allows us to offer real-time support in the bustling setting of the Punanga Nui Market.”

The CIT stall provides maps, visitor guides and offers support while visitors explore our little paradise. Visit the #TeamTourism stall every Saturday at the Punanga Nui Market from 8 AM, and drop by the Visitors Centre from 8 AM to 4 PM Monday to Friday for all your tourism needs.
