WE NEED YOUR HELP TO CONSERVE WATER

Kia Orana

The low water pressure or lack of water currently being experienced is caused by low rainfall and alarmingly low water levels in the streams that feed into our water network.
Water entering our catchments has significantly decreased, so we aren’t getting enough volume to sustain pressure.

HERE IS HOW YOU AND YOUR GUESTS CAN PLAY A PART

Step 1

Let them know you care:
Caring for the environment is high on most people’s daily actions so you can only win by telling your guests about what you are doing to reduce water consumption.

Step 2

Tell them they can make a difference:
Guests will, in the main, feel very positive when hearing about how you are making a difference through your eco policies and will want to know how they can help.

Step 3

Show them the way:
Giving guests some simple pointers for effective and easy actions will encourage them to act.

HERE ARE SOME EXAMPLES

Reuse towels and linen
Minimise shower time
Turn off the water to brush your teeth and shave
Invite your guests and staff to report leaking faucets
Use dishwashers and washing machines for full loads only
Turn off the water when rinsing dishes or vegetables
Keep a bottle of water in your refrigerator
Make all employees aware of management’s commitment to saving water
Encourage staff to get involved with their own suggestions for water reduction
