Aaron Lassey, Digital Manager, and Sarah-Elyss, Trade Manager, from the Destination Marketing team of Cook Islands Tourism recently participated in digital marketing workshops hosted by the Pacific Tourism Organisation (SPTO) in Fiji this past week

The first day focused on data sharing and collaboration. Participants learned about SPTO's regional benchmarking program, which the Cook Islands are apart of which aims to foster a collaborative data-driven approach to tourism promotion and comparison on a regional level.

Day two delved into the latest digital marketing trends. Attendees received advanced training on Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and gained insights into how artificial intelligence (AI) is shaping the industry. The workshop also highlighted new trends such as exploring the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) sector, and shared strategies to attract wellness and culture-seeking incentive groups through targeted marketing messaging.

The final session, led by Wanderlust Adventure Films, equipped participants with skills for creating engaging content using readily available resources like smartphones. They also gained valuable knowledge about navigating the ever-evolving social media algorithms.

Cook Islands Tourism wishes to extend a warm "vinaka vaka levu" to SPTO for providing an insightful learning experience.
