Revitalising Tourism on Mangaia

Mangaia has expressed strong interest in CIT's support in developing sustainable tourism on the island.

Cook Islands Tourism (CIT) is joining forces with Mangaia to breathe new life into the island's tourism industry. This collaborative effort gained traction during a recent visit by CIT's Industry Development Manager, Tina Kae, and Regenerative Tourism Manager, Jeremy Goodwin, who were part of a broader delegation led by BTIB.

While their primary focus was on empowering the Mangaia community with digital marketing skills and fostering awareness about regenerative tourism practices, CIT also took the opportunity to assess the viability for revitalising Mangaia's tourism sector. The visit proved to be a success, with Mangaia expressing strong interest in CIT's support in developing sustainable tourism on the island.

To solidify a collaborative plan and determine the next steps, CIT intends to conduct further consultations that will involve all Island Government, Aronga Mana and the community. Stay tuned for future updates on this exciting initiative aimed at revitalising Mangaia's tourism industry in a sustainable manner.
