It was an opportunity to discuss possible collaborations and economic opportunities for Tongareva Island development.

Puna Vano highlighted that they wanted to see how Tourism would work for Tongareva and CI Tourism was able to identify and better understand the types of sustainable tourism ventures that would excel in Tongareva based on their environment.

Karla Eggelton shared, "This inaugural meeting helped us to better understand the needs of the people on Tongareva and recognise how sustainable tourism can be the catalyst to help in these areas. This meeting marks a stepping stone towards the development of a Memorandum of Understanding with Tongareva to further strengthen our partnership."
