Tourism in the Cook Islands is more than an industry—it’s a reflection of who we are, how we share our home, and how we ensure that the benefits reach our people. To keep it thriving, we need fresh ideas, innovative leadership, and a commitment to ensuring tourism serves both our present and our future.

That’s what Te Mana Turoto, Cook Islands Tourism’s internship programme, is all about. It’s not just about learning the ropes; it’s about shaping the future of our industry with the energy, creativity, and perspectives of our young people.

This year, we welcome Kubethreana Taripo, affectionately known as QB, in Rarotonga, and Alice Marsters in Aitutaki.

Both bring something special to the table—passion, vision, and a deep connection to their home islands. Through this internship, they’ll not only gain hands-on experience but also help drive a more innovative and sustainable future for Cook Islands tourism.

With strong ties to their communities and a shared commitment to responsible tourism, QB and Alice will play a key role in shaping how we welcome the world. From supporting visitor experiences at the Visitor Information Centres to contributing to destination development projects, they are helping ensure that our tourism industry reflects both our heritage and our future.

So when you see them out and about, say kia orana! They are the future of our industry, and we can’t wait to see where this journey takes them.

Meitaki ma’ata to QB and Alice—this is just the beginning!
