Daniel Fisher, CIT General Manager Marketing, recently returned from Australia where he attended the Treasures of the South Pacific (ToSP) trade events, along with Crystal Kranz, Marketing Manager Australia. ToSP is a series of travel trade events designed to educate and inspire Australian travel agents about the variety of tourism products and experiences available in the Cook Islands and across the South Pacific. The pair attended 4 events with a combined audience of 400+ key travel agents across Brisbane, Gold Coast, Melbourne and Sydney.

The agents showed keen interest in both accommodation and tour offerings as they either have booked or tentative clients travelling to the Cook Islands. They were happy to hear of the recent Air New Zealand announcement of increased flights from October - January with the same-day connection via Auckland to Rarotonga in absence of the Sydney direct flight.

Pre-COVID ToSP was an important fixture in the Cook Islands Tourism Australia’s trade event calendar, so it was a timely event considering our border reopening.

The visit also presented the opportunity for in-house travel agency training and meeting with key digital partners for ongoing awareness of the Cook Islands in Australia.
