Vodafone is delighted to announce the launch of eSIMs (Embedded Subscriber Identity Module) for our visitors as well as our prepay and postpay customers (as of July 3rd, 2023) - eSIMs are embedded SIM cards that allow users to connect to a mobile network without having to physically swap out a SIM card. They will be able to receive and make calls, text and use data as normal with an eSIM.

The introduction of eSIMs in the Cook Islands is a significant milestone for Vodafone and a technical leap forward without the need to ensure the plastic sim card size is compatible with devices. It will provide customers with greater convenience and flexibility by removing the need to insert a physical simcard and increasing the ability to have multiple numbers. This means customers can have a work number and personal number on the one device.

The convenience and ability to purchase an eSIM online removes the need to queue in store and can enable our visitors easy onboarding by seamlessly downloading and scanning a QR code before travelling to the Cook Islands.
