Accreditation

Welcome to the Cook Islands accreditation and quality assurance programme.

The programme has recently been renewed to align with the Cook Islands Sustainable Tourism Policy Framework and Goals and the Global Sustainable Tourism Council criteria and builds on the strengths and foundation of standards originally owned and administered by the Cook Islands Tourism Industry Council (CITIC).

There are two programmes our operators can attain accreditation for.

Cook Islands Quality Assured and Mana Tiaki Eco-Certification.

Cook Islands Quality Assured

Cook Islands Quality Assured

The Cook Islands Quality Assured accreditation programme is designed to set minimum standards and guidelines for best practice. It will give you confidence when choosing where to stay, what to do and how best to experience the Cook Islands.

Wherever you see this logo you can be sure that the accommodation, restaurant, rental company, day spa, wedding and event planner, tour or activity operator has met minimum requirements to assure you of high level service, quality facilities, safe practices, and of course friendly Cook Islands hospitality.

We highly recommend that visitors use their services.

Mana Tiaki Certification

With the growth of tourism in the Cook Islands, the protection of our natural environment is even more crucial to the long term sustainability of our tourism industry.

The Mana Tiaki Certification programme provides our operators another level of excellence over and above Cook Islands Quality Assured, with an opportunity to become a protector of our precious islands.

Wherever you see this logo you can be sure that the operator not only delivers high level service, quality facilities and safe practices, but also that they are a certified guardian of our natural environment, our home, our Te Ipukarea for our future generations.

We highly recommend that visitors use their services.
