The Matka Travel Fair is Finland’s largest travel event, providing an ideal platform for travellers to discover and plan trips that cater to their specific interests and needs. Known for its vibrant and immersive atmosphere, the fair replicates the excitement of arriving in a new destination. Visitors have the unique opportunity to connect with travel industry professionals from Finland and nearly 70 countries worldwide.

Over four days, with a trade-only day to start, the fair welcomed more than 50,000 attendees, including both industry representatives and consumers. Cook Islands Tourism participated in this influential event, sharing a prominent stand with Finnish Australasia specialist Aktiv Resor. Joining forces with partners Tourism Australia, Air Tahiti Nui, and Explora Cruises, the Cook Islands showcased its offerings to an engaged audience seeking exceptional travel experiences.

As part of the event, Cook Islands Tourism also delivered a 30-minute presentation in the main auditorium. Ian Griffiths, representing the Cook Islands, introduced the Finnish audience to the allure of the destination under the theme Love Our Little Paradise, highlighting its unique culture, natural beauty, and warm hospitality. The fair proved to be a valuable opportunity to strengthen ties with the Finnish market and inspire future travellers.
