The Cook Islands feature in a major editorial article in Spain’s leading travel magazine “VIAJAR”.

The 11 page article is written by one of the nation’s leading travel journalists Elena Ortega who visited the Cook Islands in August of last year. The article carries an estimated advertising value of NZ$250,000 combined print and online readership of 1.75million and is expected to play a key role in raising awareness and generating an expected growth in arrivals from this market.

Nick Costantini GM for CIT in Southern Europe commented “ We are delighted with the output generated from Elena’s visit in August, she “happened” to be traveling in South East Asia and we were able to extend her a ticket from Sydney and despite the high season our thanks must go to all the operators and accommodation and our head office staff who contributed to her visit. The Tourism industry’s support is vital and it's always good to know that the message does indeed reach the four corners of the globe!“

Spanish travellers are renown for appreciating nature and culture and efforts will continue to attract many of the estimated 60,000+ visitors to Australia and the Pacific to our shores.
