Promoting the Cook Islands in North America
Over the weekend, General Manager for North America, Christian Mani, and General Marketing Manager Head Office, Daniel Fisher, were in-market promoting the destination at the Travel & Adventure Show in Los Angeles, along with the support of John Peterson. This was an opportunity to bring awareness to Hawaiian Airlines non-stop weekly flight from Honolulu commencing 20 May 2023, which opens up access from Hawaiian's 15 U.S Continental gateway cities for a convenient one-stop connection over Honolulu.
As the Cook Islands is still undiscovered by most North Americans, it was important to generate awareness while highlighting our various unique selling points to inspire a realized Cook Islands vacation. Interest in the Cook Islands was very high with quality conversations had with potential visitors who have visited, have some awareness or were either hearing about us for the first time.
Our booth was complimented with a range of promotional material, maps, and special offers including; the Accommodation Guide which saw 31 properties participate, Hawaiian Airlines discount coupons, Island Hopper Vacations 5-night and 8-night Accommodation packages for both Rarotonga and Aitutaki, Pleasant Holidays land deals, and Ultimate Vacations Hawaii stop-over accommodation offers.
The two-day event is the largest consumer travel show across the U.S., attracting thousands of travel enthusiasts looking for inspiration for their next vacation. Cook Islands Tourism has confirmed participation for 2024 and will reach out once again to the industry for interest in attending or being featured across any of the show collateral.
