From the grace of the slow ura, to the freedom of the Ura Penu, and the explosive energy of the fast beat, this competition is the living heartbeat of the Cook Islands. Dancers from across our Ipukarea and around the world come home to compete, carrying with them the pride of their families, villages, and communities. They are more than contestants, they are cultural bearers, weaving the knowledge of generations into each performance.
