The Air Nz Cook Islands Tourism Awards return in 2025
Cook Islands Tourism is pleased to support the Cook Islands Tourism Industry Council in announcing the sponsors for the upcoming 2025 Air New Zealand Cook Islands Tourism Awards, following a formal signing ceremony held recently.
Cook Islands Tourism Welcomes Sponsors for 2025 Industry Awards
Last hosted in 2020, the awards are the most anticipated celebration in our tourism calendar. Their return signals a powerful moment for the industry — a chance to reflect, recognise, and celebrate the excellence, innovation, and resilience that continues to define tourism in the Cook Islands.
Tourism Council President Tere Carr acknowledged the value of the partnerships behind the event:
“The Tourism Awards are an opportunity to celebrate the outstanding work of individuals and businesses who continue to showcase the very best of the Cook Islands. With the support of our valued sponsors, we’re proud to bring the event back in 2025.”
This year’s awards will recognise achievements across a wide range of categories — from accommodation and adventure to cultural tourism, community development, marketing, and sustainability. Special awards will also highlight emerging leaders and those delivering the Kia Orana spirit with pride.
Karla Eggelton, CEO of Cook Islands Tourism, added:
“The renewed interest in our islands as a destination of choice, and as one responding to changing visitor expectations, is a direct result of the successful partnership between CIT, airlines, accommodation providers, tour operators, the hospitality industry, and locals, all of whom have helped welcome our visitors and know the value and positive impact they make to our economy.”
The 2025 awards programme reflects the strength of collaboration across Rarotonga and the Pa Enua, and the shared commitment to growing a high-quality, culturally rich, and future-focused tourism sector.
