Cook Islands Website shortlists for Mumbrella Travel Summit Awards

Only months after launching, the new global marketing website developed by the Cook Islands Tourism Corporation to promote the Cook Islands around the world, has been shortlisted for the prize of the best travel website against competition as fierce as Qantas and Ibis Hotels of the Accor Group.

The prestigious Mumbrella Travel Summit Awards are held in early April, recognizing the best marketing and advertising work by travel and tourism clients and teams in the Australian and New Zealand market. The influential Mumbrella.com.au is the leading media and marketing industry website in Australia, with a national audience.

The new website was developed late last year by Cook Islands Tourism Corporation in partnership with two agencies. Core in Sydney designed and built the website, working with Dylan Harrison of locally based Te Rua Manga Productions, who creative directed and produced over 50 new films for the website.

Members of the Cook Islands Tourism Corporation team are currently in Europe and Australia, promoting our destination at trade and consumer exhibitions with the new ‘love a little paradise’ brand platform, of which the new website is the key driver.

Commenting from the promotional road tour, Marketing Director Karla Eggleton said “Being recognized for the excellence of our new website in the Australian and New Zealand market just reaffirms we are on the right track to really unlock the Australian market and convert the huge opportunity it represents.”

She continued “What’s more, just being featured in this forum, the leading Australian media and marketing website with a huge audience, is great exposure for our destination, further driving awareness of the Cook Islands in a vital market. Fingers crossed for the awards in April”.
