This month, Cook Islands Tourism (CIT) partnered with Cathay Pacific and local representative Roberta Bertazza from Turama to host the "Love our Little Ka Kai" events in three Italian cities: Genoa, Novara, and Parma.

Nick Costantini, CIT's Southern European market representative, played a key role in these efforts.

Fifteen top-performing travel agents were invited to these engaging sessions, where they learned about the Cook Islands’ culture, sustainable practices, and the Mana Tiaki philosophy, all while enjoying traditional local dishes. This initiative aims to strengthen relationships with select agents who have a strong sales record, promoting a more targeted approach to marketing.

Nick Costantini commented, “We are delighted with this new quality approach to reach out to fewer selected agents with proven records of performance. The response and cooperation from airlines and wholesale key partners to this very cost-effective approach with a Cook Islands focus has been excellent. We plan to continue our rounds of selective showcasing in these smaller, rich provincial towns that contain our ideal target travelers—those who are appreciative of overseas experiences and curious to discover beyond the usual icons—into the early months of 2025.”

CIT is also planning future events to highlight the Honolulu and Papeete gateways in Southern Europe, including France and Spain, while continuing to promote Sydney and Auckland connections. This effort showcases the Cook Islands as a unique travel destination beyond the usual tourist hotspots.
