A group of European travel agents recently visited the Cook Islands to experience the destination firsthand. They explored Rarotonga, Aitutaki, and Atiu, immersing themselves in the culture and natural beauty. This visit aims to boost European tourism to the islands.

Two groups of European wholesalers and travel agents from Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Belgium, specializing in selling the Cook Islands and the South Pacific, recently visited the destination (for their first time) with Northern Europe Rep, Lars Schubert.

The agents enjoyed a variety of activities, including land, sea and cultural tours on Rarotonga, Aitutaki and Atiu. They also stayed at a range of accommodations, from resorts to boutique hotels.

"One participant had the following to say about their visit: The journey gave me a wonderful insight into a destination I had last visited over 20 years ago. I’ve gained many new insights and impressions that I’m excited to share with our interested clients. The remarkable days on Atiu and swimming with the turtles will remain particularly vivid memories for me—such unforgettable highlights. What an absolutely beautiful corner of the world!"

These visits are crucial for promoting the Cook Islands to the European market and driving growth amongst the European travellers and we thank our industry members for supporting their visit. Cook Islands tourism would like to extend our gratitude to our industry partners for supporting their visit.
