Registrations closed in mid-August, with the organizers announcing that they were unable to accept any more registrations as for this year’s event as they had reached capacity for the 2019 event. 12 teams of 12 paddlers will compete in the 36km changeover race on Aitutaki’s beautiful lagoon. Participants will be staying on the island from 3 days, to up-to 3 weeks, adding a significant boost to the local economy.  

Whilst there may be those that have missed out on this years Motu2Motu, Stephen Doherty of the event’s organising committee is encouraging paddlers to get in early for the 10th Anniversary in, set for 30 November – 4 December 2020.

“Motu2Motu is a boutique event – spaces are limited so get in early or run the risk of missing out on one of the most unique paddling experiences, on the world’s most stunning course.” Doherty stated in a recent release.
