Cook Islands Tourism Programmes
Cook Islands Tourism Corporation promotes positive visitor experience, responsible tourism to enhance visitor experience through 2 initiatives:
- Kia Orana Values Programme: This programme encourages tourism businesses to adopt values that ensure visitors have an authentic Cook Islands experience.
- Mana Tiaki Programme: This community initiative recognises businesses, NGOs, and individuals across four islands who exemplify "Mana Tiaki" principles. This programme also encourages businesses to be more sustainable, protect our little paradise and improve the wellbeing of our people.
Tourism Industry Initiatives
Travellers today are seeking experiences that are good for the planet and the people. The Cook Islands are at the forefront of this movement, with tourism businesses leading the way in sustainable practices. Beyond reducing their environmental footprint (like minimising their carbon footprint), they're embracing regenerative tourism. This means actively giving back to the environment and the local community.
Give Back or Donate?
Many visitors ask how they can contribute to our beautiful community. This could involve donating supplies to worthy causes, or even helping out at our local schools. Learn more about volunteer and donation opportunities here!
