Why Anna Wilson, Our Pacific's Weddings Manager, Loves Edgewater Resort & Spa
"A favourite of my wedding clients is The Edgewater Resort & Spa. This is great value for money, with plenty of accommodation options for every budget. It is a perfect location for larger groups and their all-inclusive wedding package for 30 plus guests is excellent value!
Being on the western side of the Island you will be delighted by the spectacular sunsets, and a perfect spot for a sundowner with their signature fishbowl cocktails! The west of the Island has more coral, and with the reef close it’s great for snorkelling at mid to high tide, or you may even spot a whale beyond the reef if the season is right. They have a great Island Night on Tuesdays and Saturdays which I thoroughly enjoyed, and they also have their own nightlife tours which if you enjoy music and a good boogie should not be missed. Their kids club will keep the kids entertained while you join in one of the many activities on offer.
This is a great base to explore all that Rarotonga has to offer, with value for money accommodation ranging from Studios through to three Bedroom Villas, there's something for everyone, at reasonable prices."
Why Anna Wilson Recommends Pacific Resort Rarotonga for Couples and Families
"Holidays to me now that I am a mum are about someone else making the beds, the breakfast and being able to order a drink or food at will for a relaxing refreshing change! If you like the idea of that too, then Pacific Resort Rarotonga will deliver!
Located on the gorgeous Muri Lagoon, I always explain it like a giant saltwater swimming pool, with a mostly sandy bottom and protected by a reef and small Islands (Motus), it’s a great safe location for families. The glorious gardens that feature here make a great backdrop for wedding pictures, and their wedding marquee is a beautiful private location for your wedding and reception, and just a dream to wander around feeling like you are well and truly in a tropical paradise. They have a pool onsite with all important poolside bar service, and also beachfront restaurant and bar. The location in Muri means you also have easy access to the night market for amazing food, and other restaurants and bar options too.
Pacific Resort Rarotonga offers a range of accommodation options from Studios right up to three Bedroom Villas, also plenty of kids club activities and activities for adults too! It certainly is perfect spot for families and couples alike."
Why Hugh Packer, Senior Travel Specialist at Our Pacific, Suggests Little Polynesian Resort for a Boutique Experience
"While Rarotonga offers an excellent range of accommodation, I recommend for the discerning guest Little Polynesian Resort as it ticks all the right boxes for a boutique option.
She has always been a classy favourite over her illustrious history. Being an upmarket adults-only resort, 'Little Poly' as she is affectionately known caters perfectly for couples, be that honeymooners through to stressed executives.
Located absolute beachfront on Titikaveka Beach, what I personally think is part of Rarotonga’s best beaches, guests have access to great swimming along with the extra bonus of excellent water sports opportunities, with complimentary gear hire.
With only 14 garden and beachfront units there is never a crowd, small enough but still providing a wonderful atmosphere, especially around their gorgeous restaurant and bar.
The island of Rarotonga is just 32km around so this is your 'resort' to enjoy. I like the fact you can slip back into your own 'exclusive resort' after a so called busy day out to sip on a tropical cocktail overlooking your infinity pool watching yet another stunning sunset – I may see you there!"
Why Shelley Gutry, Product Manager for Our Pacific, Loves a Little Villa Experience in Rarotonga
"Many villa options are available in a variety of locations around Rarotonga.
Having your own villa, with your own space is like a ‘home away from home’ in the Cook Islands. Most of these villas have a full sized kitchen facilities and are very large with separate bedroom and living areas (many two or three bedroom options are available for that extended family or group of friends). A number of villas also feature their own private pool, very chic and romantic, ideal for that special celebration or occasion...or just to spoil yourself on holiday.
Two of my absolute favourites would be Sea Change Villas in one of the Beachfront Villas with private pool, or if travelling with friends I would choose Te Manava Luxury Villas in a two or three Bedroom Ultimate or Presidential Beachfront Villa."
Why Our Pacific's Marketing Coordinator, Gemma Loau, Recommends Natura Holiday Villas for Families and Groups
"Natura Holiday Homes are a fantastic way to holiday in Rarotonga. There are multiple homes available all over the island, some beachfront and some with their own pool. I love that they are the perfect option for friends, couples and families travelling together, great for entertaining with the kitchen facilities and outdoor decks to enjoy a sunset drink.
Rarotonga is known for it’s range of activities such as lagoon cruises, adventure activities like quad and bike tours, visits to cultural villages and enjoying local cuisine. It is easy to get around the island by scooter, rental car or even the local bus!
After a day of exploring and activities, there would be nothing better than coming back to your holiday home and having a BBQ dinner, drinks and creating those holiday memories.
If you are thinking of Rarotonga for your next Pacific getaway, I would definitely recommend one of the Natura Holiday Homes."
