Oceania Athletics Association Congress
*Please note this event is not open to the public*
The Cook Islands (Rarotonga) is going to be hosting approximately 60 international delegates for a weeklong event including the annual congress meeting, athlete training workshops, coach and officials’ development, athletic displays and competition.
The Congress serves as the highest decision-making body of the Oceania Athletics Association (OAA), convening regularly (typically biennially), to elect officials, revise regulations, and set strategic directions.
Over the decades, the Congress has played a central role in expanding the reach of athletics to smaller island nations, promoting regional competitions such as the Oceania Championships, and fostering development programs for athletes, coaches, and officials.
The 2025 congress being held in Rarotonga Cook Islands, marks a significant milestone as it is the first time the event will be hosted here. The decision was announced during the OAA Congress meeting on June 2, 2024, where the Cook Islands was selected as the host for the May 2025 Congress .
