The Western and Central Pacific Fisheries Commission (WCPFC) are a group of member countries that seek to ensure, through effective management, the long-term conservation and sustainable use of highly migratory fish stocks (such as tunas, billfish, marlin) in the western and central Pacific Ocean. The Commission supports three subsidiary bodies; the Scientific Committee, Technical and Compliance Committee, and the Northern Committee, that each meet once during each year. The meetings of the subsidiary bodies are followed by a full session of the Commission. This full session of the commission is what we will be hosting in the Cook Islands at the end of the year.
