Global Traveler magazine acknowledges nation’s five consecutive awards

LLALogo2020

LOS ANGELES, July 1, 2020 -- Global Traveler, the elite monthly magazine for affluent American travelers, has awarded the Cook Islands with Quint Status recognition.

The prestigious honour is granted to airlines, airports, rental car companies, hotels, cities, and destinations that register five consecutive wins in the magazine’s annual Leisure Lifestyle Awards. The publication has a readership of nearly 300,000 people with an average net worth of $2 million.

For five years running, the Cook Islands has been voted best island nation in the Pacific Rim. Travelers have compared the South Pacific nation, which is made up of 15 islands and populated by 17,000 people, to Hawaiʻi over 50 years ago, before the high rises.

An advertorial published by Cook Islands Tourism after the announcement of this year’s award thanked readers for another year of acknowledgement, stating, “We want to sincerely thank you for gracing the Cook Islands with your votes again this year. Our gratitude is only exceeded by our honor in accepting this outstanding award.”
