Digital Marketing Makeover for Tourism Industry
The Pacific Tourism Organisation (SPTO) recently completed a two-day digital marketing workshop on August 14-15, 2023, attended by industry partners and community organizations in Rarotonga. The workshop was funded by the New Zealand Government through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade as part of the “Pacific Digital Tourism Transformation Project.”
Judith Rodriguez, a digital marketing expert and trainer based in Tahiti, led a series of workshops that covered a wide range of topics, including search engine optimization (SEO), social media marketing, Google Analytics, and discussed the importance of digital transformation in the tourism industry.
“The workshops were a great opportunity for tourism stakeholders to learn about the latest digital marketing trends and how they can use these trends to promote their tourism products and services,” said Daniel Fisher, Cook Islands Tourism General Marketing Manager. “We are confident that the knowledge gained from these workshops will help improve our digital visibility.”
The workshops are part of the SPTO Digital Strategy, which aims to position the Pacific Islands as a premier tourism destination in the digital realm. The strategy includes a number of initiatives to build digital skills and capabilities within the tourism industry, including the development of digital marketing training programs.
