Trader Jacks is turning 40!

Join us from Monday 1 June to Saturday 6 June. We’ll be marking the week with live music, 80s inspired food and beverage specials, Jacks Bar Banter questions, spot prizes, giveaways, stories & memories.

Monday kicks off at 4.00pm, followed by Jarome with Mana Strings from 4.30pm.

What is Jacks Bar Banter? It is is our light-hearted birthday week quiz and story series, celebrating 40 years of Trader Jacks.

Kicking off Friday afternoon, we open with the Steak Cookoff Association “Chill & Grill” competition, where local legends go head‑to‑head with visiting international cooks in a series of steak and ancillary dish battles.

Kīnura Music Festival 2026 returns to Rarotonga for another unforgettable celebration of youth, music, culture, and community. Organised by Kōrero o te ‘Ōrau, this vibrant festival brings together talented local performers, artists, and creatives in a family-friendly atmosphere that celebrates positive connection and island spirit.

Every September, runners from around the world head to beautiful Rarotonga for one of the South Pacific’s most unique running festivals. Combining fitness, fun, and a tropical island holiday, the event welcomes everyone from social joggers to competitive athletes.

Set against a backdrop of white sandy beaches, turquoise lagoons, and lush tropical scenery, the week features a range of events including the iconic 31km Round Island Road Race, the Local Fun Run, Hash House Harriers Run, Round Rock Teams Relay, and the legendary Nutters Cross Island Run.

The 2027 Oceania Tag Football tournament is a premier week-long sporting festival taking place from Wednesday, 13 October to Saturday, 16 October 2027, featuring an estimated 70–80 elite teams from New Zealand, Australia, Asia, and the UK.
