Newly installed Eco-Toilets in Mangaia
Cook Islands Tourism is pleased to announce the completion of the long-awaited eco-toilets installation on the island of Mangaia. Completed on July 5, 2024, the new eco-toilets, located at the picturesque Lake Tiriara and the serene Araoa Beach, are designed to minimise environmental impact while providing essential sanitation facilities. Utilising composting technology, these toilets reduce water usage and eliminate the need for chemical treatments.
Kia Orana Plus Training Programme available ONLINE
In preparation for the bubble opening with New Zealand, Cook Islands Tourism delivered the Kia Orana Plus Training Programme to over 80 businesses and over 450 employees across Rarotonga and Aitutaki since September 2020. The one-day training programme was developed to equip businesses with the necessary basic facts, best practices, health measures, guidelines and access to key resources on COVID-19.

The Cook Islands Promise is our joint commitment to protect all Cook Islands residents, and international visitors, from the severe acute respiratory syndrome, widely known as Covid-19. By participating in the Kia Orana Plus rapid training programme, businesses and individuals are making headway to commit to the Promise.
